Take graphics off air

See what's on air in the Control Room's top bar, take one graphic off with its cross, or take every graphic off at once.

Knowing what's on air, and getting it off cleanly, matters as much as putting graphics up. The bar at the top of the Graphics panel shows every live graphic, and lets you take off one or all of them in a click.

See what's on air

Everything on air is listed in the bar at the top of the Graphics panel. Each live graphic shows as a chip with its name, for example Match Intro and Commentators.

  • The chips show every live graphic, whichever section it's in. You don't need to click through your section tabs to find what's live.

  • In the graphics list, a live graphic also has a red outline, and its button reads GFX OUT.

  • The scorebug has its own button. When it's live, the button reads Scorebug Out.

Glance at this bar before you put a new graphic up. It helps you avoid two graphics clashing in the same part of the screen.

Take one graphic off

  1. Find the graphic's chip in the top bar.

  2. Click the cross on its chip. Just that graphic goes off air. Any other live graphics stay up.

You can also click GFX OUT on the graphic's row. Both do the same thing. The chip is quicker when the graphic is in a section you don't have open.

Take every graphic off at once

  1. Click the red button on the right of the top bar.

  2. Every graphic goes off air together, and the chips clear from the bar.

Use it when you need a clean screen fast, such as at a break, a stoppage, the end of a segment or when something has gone up by mistake.

What happens when a graphic goes off

  • The graphic plays its exit animation on screen, then disappears from the output.

  • The red outline and the chip disappear, and the row's button goes back to GFX IN.

  • The graphic stays in your Control Room with its settings, ready to go again.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Check the scorebug. If the scorebug stays on screen after you take graphics off, use the Scorebug Out button. See Put the scorebug on air.

  • Graphic still on the output. Open the Monitoring link to check what the overlay is showing, and check the overlay is using this control room.

  • Running in Auto. In Auto, the game plan may put graphics back up as events come in. Switch to Manual if you want full control. See Switch between Manual and Auto.

  • End of the match. Before you stop the stream, take your last graphics off and check the top bar is clear.
