Add a graphic to your Control Room

Add any graphic from your Control Room's theme to a section, give it a clear name and get it ready for your operator to put on air.

Once your sections are set up, the next step is to fill them with graphics. You can add any graphic published in your Control Room's theme, choose which section it sits in and give it a name your operator will recognise straight away.

Before you start

  • You need a Control Room with a theme assigned. You can create one from Themes > Control Rooms.

  • It helps to have your sections in place first, for example PRE-MATCH, FIRST HALF and HALF-TIME. You can still move a graphic to a different section later.

  • Only graphics published into the Control Room's theme appear in the list. If one is missing, see Publishing Graphics and Using the Control Room.

Add a graphic

  1. Open your Control Room and click the section tab the graphic belongs in. For example, click PRE-MATCH if you're adding a team line-up for Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR).

  2. Click Add Graphic. This opens the graphic library for your theme, listing every graphic available to you.

  3. Type in the search box to filter the list. For example, type "goal" to show only goal graphics, or "line" to find line-ups. Click Preview on any graphic to see how it looks before you choose it.

  4. When you've found the one you want, click Select Graphic. The edit panel opens on the Details tab.

  5. Check the graphic's name. Change it to something your operator will recognise quickly on match day, such as Goal or Home Line-up.

  6. Check the section it will sit in. It defaults to the section you had open, but you can pick a different one here.

  7. Click Add Graphic. The graphic appears in that section, ready to use.

The Details tab

The Details tab holds the basic settings for the graphic:

  • Name: what the operator sees on the graphic's row in the Control Room. Keep it short and clear.

  • Title and template: shows which graphic from your theme this row uses, so you can confirm you picked the right one.

  • Section: which section tab the graphic sits in.

  • Set graphic as scorebug: makes this the graphic the scorebug button puts on air. The scorebug button won't work until you've chosen a scorebug graphic. See Setting up your scorebug.

  • Graphic Colour: the colour of the graphic's row in the Control Room. This only changes how it looks to your operator, not how it looks on air. It's handy for spotting key graphics at a glance.

The Variables and Context tabs

You can add a graphic with just the Details tab filled in, but the other tabs let you shape how it works live.

  • Variables: these are the controls your operator changes during the match. For each one you can set a default value and choose whether the operator sees it. For example, a team line-up graphic has a TeamShow variable that picks the home or away team. See Choosing the controls your operator sees.

  • Context: links the graphic to match events such as goals, cards and substitutions. When your operator clicks an event in the Events tab, the linked graphic comes up already filled in.

Edit, duplicate, remove and reorder

  • Click the three-dot menu on a graphic to Edit, Duplicate or Remove it. After editing, click UPDATE GRAPHIC to save your changes.

  • Duplicating is useful when you want two versions of the same graphic, such as a home line-up and an away line-up, each with a different default for TeamShow.

  • Click REORDER, then drag graphics up or down to put them in the order your operator will use them.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Can't find a graphic? It hasn't been published into this theme yet. Publish it first, then reopen Add Graphic.

  • Use clear names. On match day your operator is working fast. "HCF Line-up" is easier to find than a template's default title.

  • Line-ups look empty? Team line-up graphics only fill in once the line-up has been saved in the LiveScore app or has arrived through external data.

  • Preview before going live. Use Preview on the graphic's row to check it looks right before you click GFX IN.
