Edit a graphic in the Control Room

Rename a graphic, move it to another section, set it as the scorebug and save your changes with Update Graphic in the Control Room edit panel.

Once a graphic is in your Control Room, you can change how it appears to your operators at any time. The edit panel is where you rename a graphic, move it to another section, set it as the scorebug and reach its Variables and Context tabs.

Before you start

Open the edit panel

  1. Open the section tab the graphic sits in, for example FIRST HALF.

  2. Click the three dots on the graphic's row.

  3. Click Edit. The edit panel opens on the right, on the Details tab.

The same menu also has Duplicate and Remove. Duplicate is handy when you want two versions of one graphic, such as a home goal and an away goal, each with its own name and defaults.

Rename the graphic

  1. Click into the Name field.

  2. Type something your operators will recognise straight away. For example, change Goal to Home Goal for a goal graphic you'll use for Harbour City (HCF).

  3. Leave the other fields as they are unless you need to change them.

The name is only what your operators see in the Control Room. It doesn't change what appears on screen, so you can use names that match your rundown or the way your crew talks about each graphic.

What's on the Details tab

  • Name: the label on the graphic's row in the Control Room.

  • Title: the graphic's own title. In most cases you can leave it as it is.

  • Template: the theme graphic this row is built from, such as Goal. It tells you which design and which variables the graphic has.

  • Section: the section tab the graphic sits in. Pick a different section to move the graphic there.

  • Set graphic as scorebug: makes this the graphic the Scorebug button puts on air. The Scorebug button won't work until you've chosen a scorebug graphic. See Put the scorebug on air.

  • Graphic Colour: the colour of the graphic's row in the Control Room, so it's easy to spot during a busy match.

About the Keyboard Shortcut field

You may also see a Keyboard Shortcut field. This feature isn't live yet, so the field is greyed out and you can leave it empty. For now, run your graphics with the GFX IN and GFX OUT buttons on each row.

Save your changes

  1. Click Update Graphic at the bottom of the panel.

  2. Check the row. Your changes show straight away, for example the row now reads Home Goal, or the graphic now sits in the section you picked.

If you close the panel without clicking Update Graphic, your changes aren't kept.

The other tabs

The edit panel has two more tabs. You'll use them as you build out each graphic:

  • Variables: the fields your operators can change live, their default values and whether the operator sees them. See Set up variables.

  • Context: links the graphic to live match events, such as a goal, so clicking the event in the Events tab brings the graphic up already filled in. See Add context.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Name for match day. Short, clear names like Home Goal, Away Goal or Half-Time Promo help your operator find the right graphic under pressure.

  • Moving a graphic. To move a graphic to another section, change Section and click Update Graphic. You don't need to remove it and add it again.

  • Changing order. Click REORDER above the graphics list, then drag graphics up or down within a section.

  • Use colour to group graphics. Give related graphics the same Graphic Colour, for example one colour for home team graphics and another for Ridgeview (RVR), so your operator can scan the list quickly.

  • Editing a live graphic. Changes to a graphic's setup are best made before the match. During a match, use the graphic's controls instead. If a graphic is already on air and you change one of its control variables, the live graphic won't change until you click Update.
