Adding context for goals, cards and subs

Link graphics to event types, so clicking a goal, card or sub brings up the right graphic already filled in.

Context is what makes the Control Room fast on match day. It tells a graphic which kind of moment it belongs to. When the operator clicks a goal on the Events tab, the room shows just the goal graphics, with the scorer's name and number already filled in. No scrolling, no typing.

Before you start

Set up context

  1. Click ⋮ on the graphic and select Edit.

  2. Open the Context tab.

  3. Set the context type to match the graphic (see the table below).

  4. Under Context Values, set Fact to Event.

  5. Click UPDATE GRAPHIC.

Graphic

Context type

Goal lower third

Goal Event

Yellow or red card lower third

Substitution lower third (player off and player on)

Substitution Event

Test it

  1. Log a test event in the LiveScore app, for example a goal for home #9.

  2. It appears on the Events tab within seconds.

  3. Click it. A chip such as Goal Event appears, and the graphics list filters to the graphics for that event, already filled in.

  4. Click × on the chip to clear the filter.

Tip: Context values can also include Player, Team, Period and Minute, depending on your template's controls.
