Adding Full Frame (FF) Templates In The Control Room

Insert and configure full-screen graphics, such as team lineups, to handle complex visual data and color variables.

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Overview

Full Frame (FF) templates allow you to display larger amounts of data. Using advanced variables, you can set defaults and toggle text colors to ensure graphics remain readable against different team kits.

You'll configure full frames when:

  • Displaying starting 7s or starting 11s for the home or away teams.

  • You need to dynamically invert text colors if a team's away kit causes white-on-white text clash.

Prerequisites

  • A dedicated "Full Frames" section created in the control room.

  • The Full Frame Team Lineup template published from Fuse/Rive.

How to Set Up Team Lineup Variables

  1. Click Add Graphic in the Full Frames section, search for the Team Lineup template, and select it.

  2. Add the "Team" variable and set the input style to a "Button" so operators can toggle between the Home Team and Away Team.

  3. Add the "Subtitle" variables for both home and away teams. You can input default text here (e.g., "Starting Seven") that will auto-populate on the broadcast.

  4. Add the "Invert Team Name" variables and set them to default off.

  5. Click Add Graphic to save the template into your section.

How to Add Context to Full Frames

  1. Edit the Team Lineup graphic and go to Context.

  2. Set the context to "Team" and leave the subsequent value blank, then update the graphic.

  3. Click on the "Teams" tab in your control room to easily pull up the full frame preview.

  4. If the team's kit makes the white text hard to read, toggle the "Invert Team Name" button to change the text color to black.

Tips

  • Variables like "Invert Color" are not uniform across all themes; they are specific tools built into individual RIVE files before being published into LIGR to solve specific production needs.
