A milestone trigger fires a playlist every Nth time something happens for a team. Examples are every third corner, every five shots on target or every third yellow card. It's ideal for stat graphics and sponsor moments that shouldn't appear after every single event, and it helps mix up what viewers see during play.
Set up a milestone
Milestone playlists live on the In Game (Live) tab of your game plan, alongside your goal, card and substitution playlists.
On In Game (Live), click Create Playlist and give it a clear name, for example Corners every 3.
In Configure, add a milestone trigger. Choose the fact (for example corners) and how many times it needs to happen for a team (for example 3).
Click Add Item to Sequence and add the Action Hide all except scorebug at 00:00. This clears any other graphic but keeps the scorebug up.
Add an Overlay Graphic, for example the team stats lower third with its stat set to corners. On its Advanced tab, set Update Type to Update so it layers on while the scorebug stays on screen.
Finish with Show scorebug or Hide all except scorebug so the playlist hands back to the scorebug.
Save.
For more on the trigger options, see Live triggers: events, milestones and time. For the Update setting, see Keep the scorebug on screen: Update type and actions.
Ideas
Milestone | Show |
Every 3 corners | Team stats lower third with the corner count, plus a sponsor |
Every 5 shots on target | Team stats lower third with shot stats |
Every 3 yellow cards for a team | The cards lower third |
To add a sponsor, add an Advertisement or Ad Template item to the playlist. See Add an advertisement to a playlist and Add an ad template to a playlist.
Milestones and normal event playlists
A milestone can land on the same moment as a normal event playlist. For example, the third yellow card for Harbour City fires both your card playlist and your cards milestone. When two playlists trigger together, the one with the higher priority wins and can take over one that's already running. Priority 1 is the highest, 4 the lowest, and 2 is the default.
A typical setup gives goals the highest priority and cards high priority, with milestone and stats playlists lower. Set priority in Configure > Show Advanced Options. See Playlist priority and guards explained.
Test your milestone playlist
Use Preview to play the playlist over the vision and check the lower third and scorebug look right.
Use Review Match with a real match ID. Filter by Milestone to step through only the moments your milestone triggers fired, and see what was playing.
Tips and common mistakes
Give every item its own start second. Two transitions on one second can wipe each other.
Graphics animate in and out within their duration. Leave about 2 seconds between items so animations finish cleanly.
If you see the red warning about ending a live playlist, add Show scorebug as the final step. See Playlist warnings and timing tips.
Milestones fire from live scoring, so the facts (corners, shots, cards) need to come in from LiveScore or your data provider.
