Overview
Theme instances allow you to create multiple output configurations from a single game plan. For example, you can create a full-graphics media stream and a scoreboard-only stream for distribution partners like radar or IMG. Each instance can have different default graphics and control variables configured.
You'll use theme instances when you need to deliver different graphic configurations to different destinations from the same match — such as a full production output for your primary broadcast and a clean scoreboard-only output for data distribution partners.
Key Concepts
Theme Instance
A separate configuration of the same game plan that outputs to different destinations. Multiple instances share the same match data but display different graphics.
Full-Graphics Instance
A theme instance that includes all graphics: scoreboard, lower-thirds, player stats, animations, and advertisements. Typically used for primary media streams.
Scoreboard-Only Instance
A theme instance that displays only the scoreboard graphic, creating a clean output with essential match information. Ideal for distribution partners requiring minimal overlays.
Default Graphics
Graphics that are pre-configured to appear automatically in a specific theme instance. Each instance can have its own default graphic configuration.
How to Create a Full-Graphics Theme Instance
1. Navigate to the Automation section and open your game plan
2. Create a new theme instance for your primary media stream
3. Configure this instance to include all graphics:
* Scoreboard
* Lower-thirds
* Player stats
* Animations
* Advertisements
4. Set default graphics for this instance if required
5. Assign this instance to your primary broadcast destination
How to Create a Scoreboard-Only Theme Instance
1. In your game plan, create a second theme instance
2. Remove all graphics except the scoreboard
3. This creates a clean output with only essential match information overlay
4. Configure scoreboard-specific control variables for this instance:
* Stoppage time display
* Card indicators
* Substitution counters
* Period/half indicators
5. Assign this instance to your distribution partner destination (radar, IMG, etc.)
Testing Theme Instances
1. Preview both theme instances to verify they display correctly
2. The full-graphics instance should show all overlays
3. The scoreboard-only instance should show a clean feed with only the scoreboard
4. Verify that both instances update simultaneously when match data changes (score, time, events)
Understanding Shared Match Data
Theme instances share the same match data. Changes to score, time, or events update across all instances simultaneously. This ensures consistency across all your output streams while allowing different graphic presentations.
Tips
* The scoreboard-only instance is ideal for distribution partners (radar, IMG) who need clean feeds
* Each theme instance can have its own default graphic configuration
* Scoreboard variables (stoppage time, cards, subs) should be configured for both instances for consistency
* You can create more than two instances — for example, a third instance for social media with a different graphic style
