Overview
Program and Clean are two feed types that determine whether graphics appear on your stream destinations. Program feed includes all graphics overlays (scoreboards, player stats, advertisements). Clean feed shows only the video source without any graphics.
You'll need to understand feed types when:
* Destinations aren't showing graphics even though overlays are active
* You need a clean feed for specific distribution partners
* Setting up multiple destinations with different graphic requirements
Feed type is configured per destination, so you can send Program feed to one platform and Clean feed to another simultaneously.
Program Feed vs Clean Feed
Program Feed: Includes all graphics overlays displayed on your broadcast. This is what viewers typically see - scoreboards, lower thirds, player statistics, sponsor graphics, and all other overlay elements configured in your stream settings.
Clean Feed: Video source only with no graphics overlays. Shows the raw camera feed without any scoreboards, statistics, or advertisements. Used when distribution partners want to add their own graphics or when you need an unadorned feed.
How to Check Feed Type for a Destination
From the Matches section:
1. Click the drop-down arrow to expand the match details
2. Locate the stream with the destination you want to check
3. Look at the destination assignments listed on the right side
4. The feed type (Program or Clean) appears next to each destination name
How to Change Feed Type for a Destination
Changing feed type requires modifying the destination configuration in the Streaming tab.
1. Click Streaming in the left sidebar
2. Click Destinations
3. Find and select the destination you want to modify
4. Locate the Feed Type setting
5. Select Program or Clean from the dropdown
6. Click Save
The feed type change applies to all future streams using this destination. If a stream is currently live, stop and restart the stream for the change to take effect.
Troubleshooting Graphics Not Showing at Destination
If graphics aren't appearing on your destination platform:
Check destination indicator color first:
* Red indicator: LIGR is successfully connected - troubleshoot the destination platform (YouTube, custom RTMP settings)
* Yellow indicator: Still attempting to connect - check internet connection
* Warning icon: Connection failed - verify destination details
If destination indicator is red but graphics still aren't showing:
1. Verify feed type is set to Program (not Clean)
2. Confirm overlay is assigned to the stream
3. Check overlay indicator is red (active)
4. Verify the overlay isn't set to start as hidden in stream settings
5. Check platform-specific settings on the destination (correct stream key, event selection, visibility settings)
Using Program and Clean Feeds Together
You can assign different feed types to different destinations on the same stream. This is useful when you need both graphic-enabled output and clean feed simultaneously.
Example: Send Program feed to YouTube for public viewing while sending Clean feed to a production partner who will add their own graphics.
Each destination configured in the Streaming tab has its own feed type setting, so one stream can output multiple configurations at once.
Feed Type and Ad Display
Feed type only affects whether graphics overlays appear on the output. It does not control ad type settings.
Ad type (Brands, Free Tier, No Brands) is configured in Overlay Settings and determines which advertisements appear on the overlay itself. Feed type then determines whether that overlay (including any ads) appears on the destination.
Clean feed never shows ads because it never shows any graphics. Program feed shows ads only if the overlay has ads enabled and ad type is set appropriately.
