Overview
Controller overlays allow you to control graphics on multiple overlays simultaneously from one Control Room. When you assign an overlay as a controller, showing a graphic on the controller displays it on all overlays assigned under that controller — for example, showing a scoreboard on 5 different overlays at once.
When to Use Controller Overlays
Use controller overlays when you're running multiple streams with separate overlays but want to control graphics from one central location. This is common when:
* Broadcasting the same match to multiple destinations with different overlay configurations
* Running multi-stream broadcasts where all streams need synchronized graphics
* Managing several overlays that share common graphic elements like scoreboards or event notifications
How to Assign an Overlay as a Controller
You configure controller overlay assignment during overlay creation or by editing an existing overlay's configuration.
1. Navigate to the Matches section
2. Find your match and expand it by clicking the drop-down arrow
3. Either create a new overlay or click the three-dot menu next to an existing overlay and select Configure
4. Scroll to Advanced Settings
5. Find the Controller Overlay section
6. Assign this overlay as a controller for other overlays
7. Click Create (for new overlays) or Save (for existing overlays)
How Controller Overlays Work
Once an overlay is assigned as a controller:
* Graphics shown on the controller overlay appear on all overlays assigned under it
* You control all assigned overlays from one Control Room interface
* Each assigned overlay can still have independent settings for watermarks, ads, and auto background
* The controller overlay's Control Room becomes the central command for all assigned overlays
Accessing the Controller Overlay Control Room
1. Expand your match in the Matches table
2. Find the controller overlay
3. Click the three-dot menu next to the controller overlay
4. Select Control Room
5. Graphics you show from this Control Room will appear on all assigned overlays
Independent Control of Assigned Overlays
While the controller manages which graphics appear, each assigned overlay retains its own:
* Watermark settings (primary and secondary watermarks can be toggled independently)
* Ad type and Enable Ads toggle
* Auto background settings
* Control mode (Auto Mode or Manual Mode)
* Stream assignment
Reassigning Overlays for Independent Control
If you need an overlay to operate independently instead of being controlled by the controller:
1. Edit the controller overlay's configuration
2. In Advanced Settings, remove the overlay from the controller assignment
3. Save the configuration
4. The overlay will now have independent graphic control from its own Control Room
