Overview

If your stream won't start, there are several checks you need to perform in order. The most common cause is that no input has been assigned to the stream, indicated by a gray warning icon on the input indicator. This article walks through the systematic troubleshooting steps to get your stream running.

Check for Gray Warning Icon

Look at the input indicator for your stream in the expanded match view. A gray warning icon typically means no input is assigned to the stream. Streams cannot start without an input assignment.

Assign an Input to the Stream

If no input is assigned, you need to add one:

1. Click the white space of the stream row to open the side control panel

2. In the Input Assignment section, select an input from the dropdown menu

OR

1. Click the three-dot Actions menu next to the stream

2. Select Settings or Configure

3. Assign an input in the Stream Input field

4. Click Save

Remember: one input per stream. Each stream requires one input to be assigned before it can start.

Start the Stream in LIGR

Creating a stream does not automatically start it. Even with an input assigned, streams must be manually started or have Auto-Stream configuration enabled.

To manually start a stream:

1. Click the three-dot Actions menu next to the stream

2. Select View to open the Stream Monitoring page

3. Click Start Stream

OR

1. Click the white space of the stream row to open the side control panel

2. Click Start Stream from the side panel

To start multiple streams at once:

1. Select the checkboxes next to each stream you want to start

2. Click the Start Stream bulk action button at the top of the screen

For automatic starting:

Configure Auto-Stream settings in stream configuration. Set the stream to start X minutes before scheduled match time.

Use Correct Ingest Details

Your streaming software (camera or encoder) needs the correct connection details to send video to LIGR. These details are found in the assigned input:

1. Open the Stream Monitoring page (View from the stream Actions menu)

2. Look at the Left Side Details section

3. Copy the input details:

* For RTMP inputs: Copy the RTMP URL and Stream Key

* For SRT inputs: Copy the SRT link

4. Paste these details into your streaming software exactly as shown

5. Start sending video from your streaming software

Confirm Input is Receiving Video

After you start sending video from your streaming software, verify that LIGR is receiving it:

1. Check the bitrate indicator next to the input details

2. A green indicator with a KBS value means the stream is being received

3. A warning icon means no stream is being received

If the indicator stays on warning after you've started sending video:

* Verify the ingest details were copied correctly into your streaming software

* Check that your streaming software is actually running and sending

* Confirm your internet connection is stable

* Check that the input source (camera/encoder) is connected and active

Check Stream and Highlights Hours Balance

Verify that you have sufficient Stream and Highlights hours available in your account. Your remaining balance is visible in the top-right corner of the Matches page or in the Billing section under Profile.

If your balance is low or at zero, streams cannot start. You will need to purchase additional hours before you can stream.

Additional Checks

If you've completed all the steps above and the stream still won't start:

* Verify the stream destination is properly configured in the Streaming tab

* Check the stream's status indicators for specific component failures

* Review your internet upload speed to ensure it's sufficient for streaming

* Confirm you're using a supported browser (Chrome or other Chromium-based browsers work best)
