Overview
Inputs are the video feeds coming into LIGR Live from your camera or streaming software. Every stream requires one input assigned before it can start. You create inputs in the Streaming tab, then assign them to streams when setting up matches.
You'll use inputs when:
* Setting up a new stream for a match
* Connecting a camera or encoder to LIGR Live
* Troubleshooting why a stream won't start
Key Concepts
Input: The video feed coming into LIGR Live from your camera or streaming software. Each stream requires one input.
RTMP: A streaming protocol that uses an RTMP URL and stream key to connect your video source to LIGR Live.
SRT: A streaming protocol that uses a single SRT link to connect your video source to LIGR Live.
Input Assignment: The process of linking an input to a specific stream. One input per stream.
How to Create an Input
1. Click Streaming in the left sidebar
2. Navigate to the Inputs section
3. Click Create Input
4. Select the input type:
* RTMP: Uses RTMP URL and stream key
* SRT: Uses a single SRT link
5. Enter a descriptive name for the input (e.g., "Main Camera", "Field Camera")
6. Click Create
The input is now created and will appear in your inputs list.
How to Access Input Details
After creating an input, you need the connection details to configure your camera or streaming software.
For RTMP Inputs:
1. Click on the input in your inputs list
2. Copy the RTMP URL
3. Copy the Stream Key
4. Enter both into your streaming software or camera encoder
For SRT Inputs:
1. Click on the input in your inputs list
2. Copy the SRT link
3. Enter the link into your streaming software or camera encoder
You can also access input details from the Stream Monitoring page (Stream View) on the left side under Input information.

1. Navigate to Matches and find your match
2. Click the drop-down arrow to expand match details
3. Click Add Stream
4. In the Stream Input field, select your input from the dropdown

4. Click Save
Note: The stream must be stopped before you can change the input assignment.
Understanding Input Indicators
Input status indicators appear in the Matches table and Stream Monitoring page:
Gray indicator: Input created but not receiving video
Red indicator: Input is receiving video feed
Bitrate indicators:
* Warning icon: No stream received
* Green with KBS value: Stream is being received
Why Streams Cannot Start Without Inputs
LIGR Live streams require a video source to broadcast. If no input is assigned to a stream, there is no video to send to destinations.
When you try to start a stream without an input assigned:
* A gray warning icon appears on the input indicator
* The Start Stream button may be unavailable
* The stream cannot initialize
Always verify an input is assigned before attempting to start a stream.
Connections to Other Sections
Matches Section: Inputs are assigned to streams when configuring matches. Stream settings in the Matches section include input assignment.
Multiview: The Multiview shows input status indicators for all active streams, allowing you to monitor which inputs are receiving video.
Stream Monitoring Page: Input details (RTMP URL and stream key, or SRT link) are accessible from the Stream View page on the left side under Input information.
Common Issues and Solutions
Issue: Stream won't start
Solution: Check for a gray warning icon on the input indicator. This means no input is assigned to the stream. Assign an input to the stream and try starting again.
Issue: Input indicator shows gray (not receiving video)
Solution: Verify your streaming software or camera is configured with the correct input details (RTMP URL and stream key, or SRT link). Start the stream in LIGR first - LIGR must be in live state to receive the incoming feed. Then start sending video from your encoder.
Issue: Cannot change input assignment
Solution: The stream must be stopped before you can change the input assignment. Stop the stream, change the input, then restart it.
Issue: Input details not working in streaming software
Solution: Verify you copied both the RTMP URL and stream key (for RTMP inputs) or the complete SRT link (for SRT inputs). Check that LIGR stream is started before sending video from your encoder.
