Overview

Stream configuration options control the technical quality and behavior of your broadcast output. These settings determine video resolution, frame rate, bitrate, server location, audio handling, and whether highlights and recordings are captured during the stream.

You configure these settings when creating a new stream or by editing an existing stream's settings. Some settings can be changed while a stream is live, while others require the stream to be stopped first.

Settings You Cannot Change While Stream Is Live

The following settings must be configured before starting your stream. To change them, you must stop the stream, make the changes, then restart:

* Frame rate

* Resolution

* Region

* Input assignment

Settings You Can Change While Stream Is Live

These settings can be modified during an active broadcast:

* Destinations (add or remove)

* Overlay assignment

* Audio settings (mix, mute, volume)

Stream Size (Resolution)

Choose your output resolution:

* 1080p

* 720p

Higher resolution provides better quality but requires more bandwidth and processing power.

Frames Per Second (FPS)

Set the frame rate for your stream output. This controls how many frames per second are broadcast.

FPS must be set before starting the stream and cannot be changed while the stream is live.

Video Bitrate

Set the video bitrate for your stream. Higher bitrate produces better video quality but requires stronger internet upload speed.

The bitrate you select determines the data rate of your video stream. If your internet connection cannot support the selected bitrate, you may experience buffering or connection issues.

Region

Select the server region closest to your physical location. This setting determines which LIGR server handles your stream processing.

Choosing the nearest region improves stream performance and reduces latency. Region must be set before starting the stream and cannot be changed while live.

Input Stream Volume

Pre-configure the audio level for incoming video from your input source. This setting controls how loud the audio from your camera or encoder will be in the final broadcast.

You can adjust input stream volume while the stream is live by using the audio volume slider on the Stream Monitoring page.

Mix Input Audio Channels

Toggle on to mix left and right audio channels together. When enabled, both audio channels are combined into a single mixed output.

This setting is useful when your input source has different audio on the left and right channels and you want them blended together.

Mute Input Audio Channels

Mute the left or right audio channel from your input source. This is useful when one channel contains unwanted audio or when you only want to broadcast audio from a single channel.

You can mute or unmute audio channels while the stream is live from the Stream Monitoring page.

Start Overlay as Hidden

Toggle on to prevent the overlay from appearing automatically when the stream starts. When enabled, graphics will not display until you manually show them from the Control Room.

This setting only affects LIGR-hosted streams. When using external software like vMix or OBS with the overlay production URL, this toggle does not control overlay visibility.

Generate Highlights

This setting MUST be toggled on if you want highlights created from match events. When enabled, highlights are automatically captured in real-time during your live stream whenever match events are logged.

If Generate Highlights is off, no highlights will be generated regardless of whether match events are being logged. Highlights only capture during active broadcasts when this setting is enabled.

When you enable Generate Highlights, Store Match Recording is automatically enabled as well, since recordings are required to generate highlights.

Auto-Publish Highlights

Toggle on to automatically publish highlights to connected social media accounts the moment they finish rendering during the live stream.

This setting only functions when Generate Highlights is enabled. Auto-publish posts highlights immediately without requiring manual sharing.

Store Match Recording

Toggle on to archive a full recording of the entire stream from start to finish. The match recording appears in the Multimedia section after the stream completes.

Store Match Recording is automatically enabled when Generate Highlights is turned on, as highlight generation requires the full stream recording.

Accessing Stream Settings

From the Matches section:

1. Expand the match

2. Click the three-dot action menu next to the stream

3. Select Configure

Or from the Stream Monitoring page:

1. Click the three-dot menu in the top right

2. Select Stream Settings

Stream Settings cannot be accessed from Match Center.

When to Configure Settings

Configure frame rate, resolution, region, and input assignment before your first stream starts. These foundational settings cannot be changed once the stream is live.

Audio settings, highlight generation, and match recording can be configured at any time, including during stream creation or while editing an existing stream.
