Understanding Auto Stream Settings

Auto Stream settings automate stream start and stop times. Set stream to start X minutes before scheduled match time, destinations to go live X minutes before match time, and stream to stop X minutes

Overview

Auto Stream settings allow you to automate when your stream starts and stops relative to the scheduled match time. Instead of manually starting the stream and destinations before each match, you can configure the system to handle this automatically — starting the stream X minutes before kickoff, activating destinations at a specific time, and stopping the stream X minutes after the match ends.

You configure Auto Stream settings once during stream creation or by editing stream settings afterward. Once configured, the automation runs for every match using that stream configuration.

What Auto Stream Settings Control

Auto Stream settings control three timing points:

* Stream Start: When the stream itself begins running (starts accepting input from your camera/encoder)

* Go Live: When destinations start sending (when your stream begins broadcasting to YouTube, Facebook, or other platforms)

* Stream Stop: When the stream stops running after the match ends

Each timing point is set in minutes relative to the scheduled match start time or match end time.

How to Configure Auto Stream Settings

During Stream Creation:

1. From the Matches section, create or open a match

2. Click Add Stream

3. Scroll to the Auto Stream Settings section

4. Set Stream Start: Enter how many minutes before the scheduled match time the stream should start (e.g., 5 or 10 minutes before)

5. Set Go Live: Enter how many minutes before the scheduled match time destinations should start sending (e.g., 5 or 10 minutes before)

6. Set Stream Stop: Enter how many minutes after the match ends the stream should automatically stop

7. Complete the rest of your stream configuration

8. Click Create

For Existing Streams:

1. Navigate to the Matches section

2. Expand the match containing the stream you want to edit

3. Click the three-dot action menu next to the stream

4. Select Configure

5. Scroll to Auto Stream Settings

6. Adjust the Stream Start, Go Live, and Stream Stop timing values

7. Click Save

Example Configurations

Example 1: Standard Match Setup

* Stream Start: 10 minutes before match time

* Go Live: 5 minutes before match time

* Stream Stop: 5 minutes after match ends

This gives you 10 minutes to verify the stream is running correctly before destinations go live, then 5 minutes of pre-match content before kickoff. The stream stops automatically 5 minutes after the final whistle.

Example 2: Minimal Pre-Match

* Stream Start: 5 minutes before match time

* Go Live: 5 minutes before match time

* Stream Stop: 2 minutes after match ends

Stream and destinations start simultaneously 5 minutes before kickoff. Stream stops 2 minutes after the match ends, minimizing streaming time.

How Timing Is Calculated

All Auto Stream timing is calculated from the scheduled match start time you set when creating the match. If your match is scheduled for 3:00 PM and you set Stream Start to 10 minutes before, the stream will automatically start at 2:50 PM.

Stream Stop timing is calculated from when the match is marked as finished — either automatically when the match clock reaches full time, or manually when you mark the match as finished in the LiveScore app or dashboard.

Auto Stream vs Manual Control

When Auto Stream settings are configured, the stream starts and stops automatically according to your timing rules. You don't need to click Start Stream or Stop Stream manually.

You can still manually override Auto Stream behavior:

* Start a stream early by clicking Start Stream before the scheduled auto-start time

* Stop a stream manually at any time by clicking Stop Stream

* Start or stop individual destinations manually even when auto-timing is configured

Checking Auto Stream Status

In the expanded match view, each stream displays its Auto Stream status:

* Auto: Auto Stream settings are configured and active

* Manual: No auto-timing configured; stream must be started and stopped manually

You can see this status in the stream information row in the expanded match view.

Bulk Enabling Auto Stream

You can enable or disable Auto Stream for multiple streams at once:

1. In the Matches section, expand the match

2. Check the checkbox next to each stream you want to modify

3. Click Toggle Auto Stream in the bulk actions menu at the top

This toggles Auto Stream on or off for all selected streams.

Important Notes

* Auto Stream settings are configured per stream, not per match. If you have multiple streams for one match, each can have different auto-timing

* Stream Stop timing begins when the match is marked as finished. If you don't mark the match as finished, the stream will not auto-stop

* Billing starts when the stream starts (whether automatically or manually) and continues until the stream stops

* If you close your browser, auto-configured streams will still start and stop according to their schedule — you don't need to be logged in

* Auto Stream timing uses the scheduled match time from the match creation page. If you change the scheduled time, auto-timing adjusts accordingly
