Overview

Auto Stream settings automate when your streams start and stop, removing the need to manually control timing around match schedules. You configure when streams begin (X minutes before the scheduled match time), when destinations go live, and when streams automatically stop after the match ends.

These settings are configured once during stream creation or edited later in stream settings, then execute automatically for each match.

When to Use Auto Stream Settings

Auto Stream is useful when:

* You want streams to start automatically before matches without manual intervention

* You need consistent pre-match buffer time across multiple broadcasts

* You want to ensure streams stop automatically after matches end to avoid unnecessary charges

* You're managing multiple simultaneous streams and can't manually start each one

How Auto Stream Settings Work

Auto Stream configuration controls three timing points:

Stream Start: Set the stream to start X minutes before the scheduled match time (for example, 5 or 10 minutes before kickoff).

Go Live: Set destinations to start sending X minutes before match time. This determines when your stream actually begins broadcasting to platforms like YouTube.

Stream Stop: Set the stream to automatically stop X minutes after the match ends.

These settings work based on the scheduled match time configured when you created the match in the Matches section.

Configuring Auto Stream During Stream Creation

When creating a new stream for a match:

1. Navigate to the match in the Matches section

2. Click the drop-down arrow to expand match details

3. Click ADD STREAM from the bulk actions or from the match Actions menu

4. Fill in the standard stream configuration fields (stream name, input, destinations, resolution, etc.)

5. Scroll to the AUTO STREAM SETTINGS section

6. Configure Stream Start: Enter how many minutes before the scheduled match time the stream should start

7. Configure Go Live: Enter how many minutes before match time destinations should begin broadcasting

8. Configure Stream Stop: Enter how many minutes after the match ends the stream should automatically stop

9. Click CREATE to create the stream

The stream will now execute these timing rules automatically based on the scheduled match time.

Editing Auto Stream Settings for Existing Streams

To modify Auto Stream settings after a stream has been created:

1. Navigate to the Matches section

2. Find and expand the match containing the stream

3. Click the three-dot action menu next to the stream

4. Select Configure

5. Scroll to the AUTO STREAM SETTINGS section

6. Modify the Stream Start, Go Live, or Stream Stop values as needed

7. Click Save

The updated timing will apply to the next time the stream runs.

Auto Stream vs Manual Stream Control

When Auto Stream settings are configured, the stream operates automatically based on the scheduled match time. The stream starts, destinations go live, and the stream stops without any manual action required.

When Auto Stream settings are not configured, you must manually start the stream using the Start Stream button from the Stream View page or from the side control panel in the expanded match view.

You can use Auto Stream for some streams and manual control for others depending on your workflow needs.

Common Auto Stream Configurations

Standard configuration:

* Stream Start: 10 minutes before match time

* Go Live: 5 minutes before match time

* Stream Stop: 10 minutes after match ends

This gives you a 10-minute buffer to ensure the stream is running before going live, starts broadcasting 5 minutes before kickoff, and continues for 10 minutes post-match to capture any post-game activity.

Minimal buffer configuration:

* Stream Start: 5 minutes before match time

* Go Live: 2 minutes before match time

* Stream Stop: 5 minutes after match ends

This minimizes streaming time and associated costs while still providing a safety buffer.

Important Notes

Auto Stream settings are based on the scheduled match start time configured when you created the match. If the actual match starts earlier or later than scheduled, the automation will still execute based on the original scheduled time.

Stream charges begin as soon as the stream starts (based on your Stream Start setting) and continue until the stream stops. Setting appropriate stop times prevents unnecessary charges if you forget to manually stop a stream.

Auto Stream settings do not affect overlay activation. Overlay timing is controlled separately through overlay settings and Auto Graphics configuration.
