Overview

Event allocation assigns specific ad sets to display automatically when in-game events occur during a match. You can configure which ad sets appear for goals, yellow cards, red cards, tries, conversions, and other events depending on your sport. Event allocation is configured at the competition level and determines how ad sets are selected when match events are triggered.

This feature is available for organisations using inbuilt themes. Event allocation settings control which ad sets display when specific match events occur, based on one of four allocation methods: Team, Home Only, Competition, or Use Percentage.

How Event Allocation Works

When you configure event allocation at the competition level, you choose one of four settings that determine how ad sets are assigned to each event type:

* Team: Uses the allocation settings configured for each team. Events triggered by the home team display ad sets from the home team's allocation. Events triggered by the away team display ad sets from the away team's allocation.

* Home Only: Uses only the home team's allocation settings for all events. Even events triggered by the away team will display ad sets from the home team's allocation.

* Competition: Allows you to select specific ad sets from a dropdown for each event type. The selected ad sets will display for that event regardless of which team triggered it.

* Use Percentage: Falls back to the percentage allocation settings configured at the competition level. Ad sets display based on their assigned percentages rather than event-specific assignments.

How to Configure Event Allocation

1. Click Assets in the left hand side dashboard

2. Select Competitions

3. Navigate to the relevant competition

4. Click Sponsor Allocation in the top right of the screen

5. Locate the Events Allocation Config section

6. Select the drop down menu for the first event (for example, for a try in a rugby league match)

7. You will see 4 options: Team, Home Only, Competition, or Use Percentage

8. Select your preferred allocation method for that event

9. Repeat for additional events as needed

Configuring Team-Based Event Allocation

If you select Team under Events Allocation Config, the system uses each team's individual allocation settings when their events occur.

To configure team allocation settings for events:

1. Click Ads in the left hand side dashboard

2. Select Allocation

3. Filter by the team you want to configure

4. The Events Ad Sets Allocation settings appear on the right side of the screen

5. Select the ad set you want to display when each event occurs for the selected team

6. Repeat for each team

Events triggered by competing teams will use their own allocation settings. For example, a try scored by the home team will show the ad set assigned under try in the home team's allocation settings. A conversion by the away team will show the ad set assigned under conversion in the away team's allocation settings.

Configuring Competition-Based Event Allocation

If you select Competition under Events Allocation Config, you can assign specific ad sets to each event from the dropdown menu below.

1. After selecting Competition in the Events Allocation Config dropdown

2. Locate the Events Ad Sets Allocation section below

3. The dropdown will be populated with all ad sets assigned to the selected competition

4. Select the ad set you want to display when that event occurs

5. Repeat for each event type

Note: If Competition is selected and None is selected in the drop down below, the system falls back to percentage allocation settings.

Understanding Use Percentage

When you select Use Percentage for an event, the system locks the Events Ad Sets Allocation dropdown and displays ad sets based on the percentages set under the Ad Sets Allocation heading on the Sponsor Allocation screen. The ad sets will rotate according to their assigned percentage values rather than showing a specific ad set for that event.

Understanding Home Only

Home Only is similar to Team allocation, but uses only the home team's allocation settings for all events. Events triggered by the away team will still use the home team's allocation settings rather than the away team's settings. Events triggered by the away team will use percentage allocation settings.
