How to allocate ad sets at the club level

Club-level ad set allocation is a two-step process: assign the ad set to a club, then set allocation percentages under Clubs & Teams.

Overview

Club-level ad set allocation is a two-step process that determines which sponsor ads appear when a club's teams play. First, you assign an ad set to a club, making it available to all teams within that club. Second, you set allocation percentages that control how often each ad set is displayed during broadcasts.

The percentages you set at the club level represent portions of the ad space allocated to that club when playing as the home or away team, based on competition-level settings. For example, if the competition allocates 20% of ad space to the home team and you set a club-level ad set to 70%, that ad set will display 14 times out of 100 total ad opportunities.

Step 1: Assign the ad set to a club

Ad sets can only be assigned to one club at a time. When you assign an ad set to a club, it makes the ad set available to all teams within that club, and no other club or competition can use it until it is unassigned.

To assign an ad set to a club, start by clicking Ads in the left hand side dashboard, then select Ad Sets. Select the ad set you want to assign, then at the top right of the screen, choose the club to allocate it to from the drop down menu under Assign To Club. Finally, click Save at the bottom of the page.

Step 2: Set allocation percentages

Once the ad set has been allocated to a club, you can set the percentage of exposure time for each ad set.

Click Assets in the left hand side dashboard, then select Clubs & Teams, and filter by Club. Choose the club you just allocated the ad set to, then click Sponsor Allocation in the top right of the screen. Set the allocation percentage for the ad set you just assigned to the club, along with any other ad sets that have previously been assigned, then click Save.

Understanding allocation percentages

The percentages you set here represent a portion of the ad space available to the team during a broadcast. The ad space available to a team is based on the allocation settings for the competition in which the match is being played.

Under club-level settings, the percentages represent a part of the allocation when the club is playing as the home or the away team.

For example, if the club is the home team and one ad set is set to 70% and another to 30%, and there are 100 opportunities to show ads during the broadcast, the first ad set will display 14 times (20% of 100 equals 20 opportunities to show ads allocated to the home team, and 70% of 20 is 14) and the second ad set will display 6 times (30% of 20 opportunities to show ads).

Each match is different, so the number of ad displays in any broadcast will vary depending on the sport, the amount of action in the game, and the graphics settings (as ads are shown alongside live graphics).

By default, all ad allocation percentages set for a club are passed on to teams within the club. To override these settings and control allocation at a team level, you can customize settings at the team level.

Removing an ad set from a club

To remove an ad set from one club so that you can assign it to another, click Ads in the left hand side dashboard and select Ad Sets, then select the relevant ad set. Select the Assign to Club box and click the small 'X'; the club name will then disappear from the drop down menu. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to confirm.

The ad set is now unassigned and can be allocated to any other club or competition.
