Overview
Highlights will not capture during a stream unless all four of these conditions are met: Highlight Settings are configured for the competition, Stream Settings have "Capture Highlights" enabled, match events are being logged, and the stream is actually live. This article walks through checking each condition in order.
Check Highlight Settings
Highlight Settings must be configured before your first stream or highlights won't capture.
1. Navigate to Multimedia > Highlights
2. Click the Settings tab
3. Click the competition dropdown and select your competition
4. Verify that events are added (click Add Event if none exist)
5. For each event, confirm Lead seconds and Lag seconds are set
6. Click Save at the bottom of the screen
If the competition dropdown shows no competitions, you need to create a competition in the Assets section first.
Check Stream Settings
The stream must have "Generate Highlights" toggled on for highlights to capture.
1. Navigate to Matches and expand the match
2. Click the three-dot menu next to the stream
3. Select Settings (or Configure)
4. Scroll down to find the "Generate Highlights" toggle
5. Verify it is toggled ON
If the toggle is off, enable it and click Save. This setting must be enabled before the stream starts.
Check Match Events Are Being Logged
Highlights only capture when match events are logged during the stream. Events can be logged in two ways:
* Manually by a live scorer using the LiveScore app
* Automatically by an external data provider
To verify events are being logged:
1. Open Match Center during the live stream (from Matches > match Actions menu > Match Center)
2. Check the Timeline section for logged events
3. If the timeline is empty, no events are being captured
If no events appear in the timeline, confirm someone is using the LiveScore app to log events, or verify the external data feed is connected and working.
Check the Stream Is Live
Highlights only capture during active broadcasts. The stream must be in live state.
1. Go to Matches and expand the match
2. Check the stream status indicator
3. Red indicator means the stream is live
4. Gray indicator means the stream is idle (not started)
5. Yellow indicator means the stream is starting up (wait for it to turn red)
If the stream indicator is gray, click View from the stream Actions menu, then click Start Stream.
All Four Conditions Must Be Met
If highlights still aren't capturing after confirming all four conditions, the issue is likely with the LiveScore app connection or external data feed. Check that the LiveScore app is open and connected to the correct match, or verify the external data provider is sending events correctly.
