Overview
Highlight settings MUST be configured before your first stream or highlights won't capture. Navigate to Multimedia > Highlights > Settings tab to configure which match events trigger highlights, how much video before and after each event to capture, and whether to automatically publish highlights to social media.
This configuration applies at the competition level - each competition can have its own highlight settings with different events, lead/lag times, and pre/post-roll videos.
Prerequisites
* A competition must be created in Assets before you can configure highlight settings for it
* Stream Settings must be enabled for highlight capture (covered in Stream Settings documentation)
* Match events must be logged during the stream (via LiveScore app or external data feed)
* The live stream must be actively broadcasting
How to Configure Highlight Settings
1. Navigate to Multimedia > Highlights
2. Click the Settings tab
3. Click the competition dropdown and select your competition
4. Click Add Event
5. Select the match event type (goal, penalty, card, etc.)
6. Set Lead seconds (video before the event) - default is 15 seconds
7. Set Lag seconds (video after the event) - default is 15 seconds
8. OPTIONAL: Select a pre-roll video (plays before the highlight) - only videos can be used, not images
9. OPTIONAL: Select a post-roll video (plays after the highlight) - only videos can be used, not images
10. OPTIONAL: Toggle on Auto-Publish if you want highlights posted immediately to social media
11. Click Save at the bottom of the screen
Adding Multiple Events
You can configure highlights for multiple event types in the same competition. Repeat steps 4-10 above for each event type you want to capture.
To remove an event: Click the three-dot menu next to the event and select Remove.
Lead and Lag Explained
Lead: Seconds of video BEFORE the match event
Lag: Seconds of video AFTER the match event
Default: 15 seconds each
Example: A goal at 23:45 with 15-second lead/lag captures video from 23:30 to 24:00
Pre-roll and Post-roll Videos
Pre-roll and post-roll are optional videos that play before and after the highlight. Only videos can be used - images are not supported for pre-roll or post-roll in highlight settings.
Videos must be uploaded to Multimedia > Videos before they can be selected in highlight settings.
Auto-Publish
When Auto-Publish is toggled on, highlights automatically post to connected social media accounts the moment they finish rendering.
Social media accounts must be connected in Profile > Connections before auto-publish will work.
Configuration Per Competition
Each competition can have its own highlight settings. You can configure different events, lead/lag times, and pre/post-roll videos for different competitions.
Select the competition from the dropdown at the top of the Settings tab to view or modify that competition's highlight configuration.
Why Highlights Aren't Capturing
If highlights aren't capturing during your stream, check these in order:
1. Are Highlight Settings configured for this competition? Go to Multimedia > Highlights > Settings, verify the competition is selected, and verify events are added and saved.
2. Are Stream Settings enabled for highlight capture? Check the stream settings for this match and verify "Capture Highlights" is toggled on.
3. Are match events being logged? Check if someone is using the LiveScore app to log events, OR verify external data feed is connected and working.
4. Is the stream actually live? Highlights only capture during active broadcasts.
