Watching the Live Stream in Match Centre

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Match Centre includes a live stream player so you can watch the broadcast output for a match without leaving the same view you use to track events and highlights.

The Stream Player

When Match Centre opens for a match, the live stream player shows the active stream for that match. The player updates in real time as the broadcast runs.

If the match has more than one active stream (for example a main feed and a secondary feed), you can switch between them directly in the player.

Switching Between Streams

Use the stream switcher in the player to move between streams.

Switching streams inside Match Centre only changes what you are watching. It does not affect what viewers see on any destination or change any stream settings.

When to Use the Player

The Match Centre player is ideal for:

• Watching the live output while you monitor events

• Spot-checking multiple streams during a broadcast

• Reviewing the stream for a completed match alongside its event timeline

What the Player Does Not Do

Match Centre is focused on match events, live stream viewing, and highlight management. Detailed stream health monitoring, such as bitrate indicators, input status, and destination status, lives on the Stream Monitoring page rather than inside Match Centre.

If you need to investigate stream health, open Stream Monitoring. If you just want to watch the output and follow the events, stay in Match Centre.

Tips

• Keep Match Centre open on a second screen during a live match so you can watch the output while your operator runs the Control Room.

• If you suspect a stream issue, open Stream Monitoring in another tab rather than relying on the Match Centre player for health checks.

Common Issues

Stream not playing in the player. Confirm the stream is actually active. For detailed status and health information open Stream Monitoring.

Only one stream available. The switcher only appears when more than one active stream exists for the match.

Audio or video out of sync. The player reflects the broadcast output. If sync looks wrong in the player, check the source and the encoder before assuming a Match Centre issue.
