How to Assign a Game Plan to a Match

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Assigning a Game Plan to a Match tells LIGR Live which graphics and playlists should play during your broadcast, either automatically based on match events or manually triggered by an operator.

What a Game Plan Does

A Game Plan is a set of rules that controls which graphics and playlists appear during a Match. Once assigned, it determines the entire on-screen experience for that broadcast.

There are two main approaches:

Automated Game Plan — graphics and playlists trigger automatically based on match events (like goals, period changes, or match start/end)

Manual Mode — the Gameday Operator triggers each graphic manually from the Control Room

Prerequisites

Before assigning a Game Plan, make sure you have:

• A Competition created with a Theme Instance assigned

• A Match created under that Competition

• At least one Game Plan configured for the Competition's Theme Instance

Step 3: Choose a Game Plan

1. Open the Game Plan dropdown.

2. Select the Game Plan you want to use for this Match.

3. Save your changes.

Only Game Plans associated with the Match's Competition and Theme Instance will appear in this list.

Step 4: Confirm the Mode

After assigning the Game Plan, confirm whether it will run as an Automated Game Plan or in Manual Mode. This is defined by the Game Plan itself — automated plans include event triggers, while manual plans leave graphic control entirely to the operator.

Tips

• Build and test your Game Plan on a test Match before assigning it to a live broadcast.

• If you run the same Competition regularly, set a default Game Plan at the Theme Instance level so every new Match inherits it automatically.

• Use an Automated Game Plan when you have a Live Scorer using the LiveScore App — match events will drive graphics automatically.

• Use Manual Mode when you want full operator control over timing and graphic selection from the Control Room.

Common Issues

The Game Plan dropdown is empty The Match's Competition may not have a Theme Instance with any Game Plans configured. Check the Themes tab and confirm at least one Game Plan exists for that Theme Instance.

Graphics aren't triggering automatically Confirm the assigned Game Plan is an Automated Game Plan and that Match Facts are being recorded in the LiveScore App. Without incoming match events, automation has nothing to respond to.

Wrong graphics appear during the Match You may have assigned a Game Plan built for a different Competition or sport. Return to the Match settings and select the correct Game Plan.

Changes to the Game Plan aren't showing in the Control Room Refresh the Control Room after changing the Game Plan assignment to load the new configuration.
