Setting Data Coverage for a Match

Written by Julian Rodrigues
Updated today

Data Coverage controls the level of statistical detail tracked for a match in LIGR Live, from basic scoring to full event-by-event statistics.

What Data Coverage Does

When you create a match, you choose how much data will be captured during play. This setting affects what Match Facts can be recorded in the LiveScore App, what appears in your broadcast graphics, and what shows up on the Review Page and Match Centre after the match.

Choosing the right Data Coverage level helps you match your team's capacity to the complexity of the broadcast. A solo operator running a community match may only need basic scoring, while a professional production with a dedicated Live Scorer can capture every event.

Data Coverage Levels

LIGR Live offers Data Coverage levels ranging from Minimum to Standard.

Minimum — Captures only the core match data needed to run a scorebug, such as the score and match time. Best for small productions or when you don't have a dedicated scorer.

Standard — Captures a full range of Match Facts including goals, cards, substitutions, and other key events. Best when you have a Live Scorer using the LiveScore App and want richer graphics, stats, and post-match content.

Changing Data Coverage on an Existing Match

You can update Data Coverage before the match goes live if your production plan changes.

1. Open the Matches tab.

2. Click the match you want to edit.

3. Open the match settings.

4. Update the Data Coverage field.

5. Save your changes.

Tips

• Match your Data Coverage level to the role running the match. If you have a Live Scorer assigned, Standard will make the most of their input.

• Higher Data Coverage unlocks richer automated graphics through your Automated Game Plan, since more Match Facts are available as triggers.

• Post-match features like Highlights, Moments, and the Review Page benefit from higher Data Coverage because more tagged events are available.

• If you're unsure, start with Standard for important matches — you can always choose not to record certain events.

Common Issues

Graphics aren't triggering automatically during the match — Check that Data Coverage is set high enough to capture the events your Automated Game Plan relies on. Minimum coverage won't capture events like cards or substitutions.

Match Facts aren't appearing in the LiveScore App — The LiveScore App only shows event types supported by the match's Data Coverage level. Raise the level if you need more event types.

Review Page looks empty after the match — If Data Coverage was set to Minimum, only basic score data will be available post-match. Set Data Coverage to Standard before the match starts to capture full event history.

Can't change Data Coverage — Once a match has started or has recorded Match Facts, changing Data Coverage may be restricted to protect existing data.
