How to Generate Highlights Automatically

Written by Julian Rodrigues

Automated Highlights in LIGR Live turn tagged Match Facts from your match recording into short video clips without the need for manual editing.

What Are Automated Highlights?

When a match is recorded in LIGR Live, every event captured through the LiveScore App (such as goals, cards, and substitutions) is logged as a Match Fact with a timestamp. LIGR uses these timestamps to create Moments — short tagged clips around each event — which become the building blocks for your Highlights and Compilations.

This means the more accurately your Live Scorer captures events during the match, the better your automated Highlights will be.

Prerequisites

Before you can generate Highlights automatically, make sure:

• The match has been recorded in LIGR Live

• Match Facts were captured during the match via the LiveScore App

• The match has ended and the recording has finished processing

• You have the correct user permissions to access the Multimedia section (Owner, Admin, User, or Media Viewer)

Step 3: Review Moments

Before generating a Highlights package, review the Moments that have been automatically created from Match Facts.

1. Open the Moments tab.

2. Check each Moment to confirm the event type, timestamp, and clip length look correct.

3. Adjust the in and out points of any Moment if needed.

Step 4: Generate the Highlights

1. Return to the Highlights tab.

2. Select the Moments you want to include.

3. Click the option to generate a Highlights package or Compilation.

4. Wait for LIGR to render the clips into a single video.

Step 5: Review and Share

Once rendering is complete:

• Play back the Compilation to check the result

• Download the video file

• Share the link with your team or audience

Tips

• Encourage your Live Scorer to capture every significant event in the LiveScore App — missing Match Facts mean missing Highlights.

• Use a higher Data Coverage level on your match to capture more event types, which gives you more Moments to work with.

• Trim Moments before generating a Compilation to keep clips tight and engaging.

• Save frequently used Compilations so you can re-share them later.

Common Issues

No Moments Appear After the Match

• Confirm Match Facts were logged during the match in the LiveScore App.

• Check that the match recording completed successfully.

• Allow time for the recording to finish processing before expecting Moments to appear.

Highlights Clips Are Cut Too Short or Too Long

• Edit the in and out points of individual Moments before generating the Compilation.

• Match Facts rely on the timestamp entered by the Live Scorer, so late entries can offset the clip window.

A Match Fact Is Missing From Highlights

• Verify the event was recorded in the LiveScore App.

• If an event was entered after it occurred, manually adjust the Moment's timing.

Unable to Access Highlights

• Check your user role. Media Viewer, User, Admin, and Owner roles can access Multimedia. Gameday Operators and Live Scorers have restricted access.
