A Player Asset in LIGR Live represents an individual athlete who belongs to a Team, and stores the player's details, photo, and data used to populate live broadcast graphics such as lineups, player stats, and scorebugs.
Overview
Players are one of the core Assets in LIGR Live, alongside Competitions, Clubs, Teams, and Venues. They sit within the organisational structure you build before creating any Match, and they feed directly into the graphics that appear during a live broadcast.
You manage Players from the Assets tab in the left sidebar.

What a Player Asset Includes
Each Player Asset holds the information that can be pulled into overlays and FUSE graphics during a Match. Typical details stored on a Player include:
• Player name
• Player image (photo)
• Team the player belongs to
• Player number (jersey)
• Position
• Statistics captured through the LiveScore App (such as goals, cards, and substitutions)
This data is what allows graphics like lineup cards, player stat overlays, and substitution graphics to display accurate, match-specific information automatically.
Why Players Matter
Players are essential because they:
• Populate team rosters used in lineup graphics
• Supply names and photos for player-focused overlays
• Link Match Facts (like goals and cards) recorded in the LiveScore App to the right individual
• Feed dynamic data into FUSE graphics through player variables and player.data expressions
Without Player Assets set up, your graphics won't be able to display player-specific information during a live broadcast.
How Players Fit Into the Asset Hierarchy
Players belong to Teams, and Teams belong to Clubs. When you assign a Team to a Match, the Players on that Team's roster become available for lineups and event tagging.
The typical flow is:
1. Create a Club
2. Create Teams within that Club
3. Add Players to each Team's roster
4. Assign Teams to a Competition and Match

Where Player Data Is Used
Once a Player Asset exists, it can appear in:
• Scorebugs — for goal scorers or card recipients
• Lineup graphics — showing starting players and substitutes
• Player stat overlays — built in FUSE using player variables
• Match Facts — logged through the LiveScore App and attributed to the correct Player
• Highlights and Moments — tagged to specific players
Tips
• Add player images at the correct dimensions (300×300) so they display cleanly in FUSE image templates.
• Keep rosters up to date before a Match so substitutions and lineup graphics are accurate.
• Make sure player names and numbers match official team sheets to avoid on-air corrections.
Common Issues
• Player not appearing in lineups: Check that the Player is assigned to the correct Team and that Team is assigned to the Match.
• Player image not showing in graphics: Confirm the image is uploaded to the Player Asset and that the Competition theme has player image templates configured.
• Wrong player tagged for a Match Fact: Match Facts are linked to the Player selected in the LiveScore App — edit the event in the LiveScore App or on the Review Page to correct it.
