Assigning a Theme Instance to a Competition sets the visual look and feel of all graphics — including scorebugs, lower thirds, and full-screen overlays — for every match played within that Competition.
What Is a Theme Instance?
A Theme is a visual template that defines how your graphics look on screen. A Theme Instance is a specific configuration of that Theme, with your chosen colours, fonts, logos, and settings applied. Once assigned to a Competition, every Match created under it will use that Theme Instance by default.
Why This Matters
• Ensures consistent branding across every Match in a Competition
• Saves time — you don't need to configure graphics for each Match individually
• Allows different Competitions to have their own distinct look
Prerequisites
Before you assign a Theme Instance, make sure you have:
• An existing Competition in your Assets tab
• A Theme Instance already created under the Themes tab
• Admin or Owner permissions to edit Competition settings
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open the Competition
1. Click the Assets tab in the left sidebar.
2. Select the Competitions section.

Tips
• Create your Theme Instance before creating Matches so new Matches automatically pick it up.
• If you run multiple Competitions with different sponsors or branding, set up a separate Theme Instance for each.
• Updates made to a Theme Instance will flow through to all Competitions and Matches using it, so test changes carefully before a live broadcast.
Common Issues
• No Theme Instances appear in the dropdown: Make sure you have created a Theme Instance in the Themes tab first.
• Graphics don't match the assigned Theme Instance in a Match: Check that the Match was created after the Theme Instance was assigned, or re-save the Competition settings.
• Changes don't appear in the Control Room: Refresh the Control Room or reload the Match page to pull the latest Theme Instance configuration.
