Applying a Theme Instance to a Match determines the visual look and feel of all graphics, overlays, and scorebugs that appear during your broadcast.
What is a Theme Instance?
A Theme is a visual template that defines the style of graphics used in LIGR Live. A Theme Instance is a specific configuration of that Theme — with set colours, logos, and layout options — that can be applied to a Competition or an individual Match.
When you apply a Theme Instance to a Match, every graphic produced in the Control Room for that Match will follow the styling defined in that Theme Instance.
Prerequisites
Before applying a Theme Instance to a Match, make sure you have:
• A Competition already created
• At least one Theme Instance configured for that Competition
• A Match created under the Competition
• Appropriate permissions (Owner, Admin, or User)
How Theme Instances Are Applied
By default, a Match inherits the Theme Instance assigned to its parent Competition. You can override this at the Match level if you want a different look for a specific fixture.

Applying a Theme Instance at the Competition Level
If you want every Match within a Competition to use the same Theme Instance:
1. Go to the Assets tab and open Competitions.
2. Select the Competition you want to update.
3. Find the Theme Instance setting.
4. Choose the Theme Instance you want all Matches to inherit.
5. Save your changes.
Any new Matches created under that Competition will automatically use this Theme Instance unless overridden.
Tips
• Set the Theme Instance at the Competition level for consistency across a full season or tournament.
• Use Match-level overrides sparingly — for example, for finals, special events, or sponsor activations.
• Preview your graphics in the Control Room after applying a Theme Instance to confirm the look is correct before going live.
• If you have multiple Theme Instances, use clear naming conventions so operators can quickly identify the right one.
Common Issues
The Theme Instance dropdown is empty You need to create at least one Theme Instance before it can be applied. Check with your Admin or Owner if none are available.
Graphics are not showing the expected styling Confirm the correct Theme Instance is selected on the Match, not just the Competition. Match-level settings override Competition-level settings.
Changes to the Theme Instance are not appearing in the Control Room Refresh the Control Room or reopen the Production Link after changing the Theme Instance to load the updated styling.
Cannot change the Theme Instance Your user role may not have permission. Only Owner, Admin, or User roles can update Match settings.
