Manage your game plans: edit, duplicate and delete

Find your Automated Game Plans in the Automation tab, open them to edit playlists, change their name and settings, make a copy or delete one you no longer need.

Once you have created a few Automated Game Plans, you will want to keep them tidy and up to date. This article shows you where your game plans are listed and how to open, edit, duplicate and delete them from the Automation tab.

Before you start

  • Your organisation needs the Broadcast Graphics module, because Automation runs your theme's graphics.

  • You need access to the Automation tab in LIGR Live.

  • You need at least one game plan already created. If the list is empty, create your first game plan before following these steps.

Find your game plans

Open the Automation tab. Your game plans are listed here, one per row. Each row is a separate game plan that can be linked to a theme profile and used to run graphics automatically during a match.

Give your game plans clear names so you can tell them apart at a glance. For example, a plan called LIGR Demo League Round Plan is much easier to find than one called Plan 2, especially once you have plans for different competitions or match formats.

Open a game plan

Click any row to open that game plan and edit it. This is the quickest way in when you want to work on the plan's content, such as its playlists, triggers and items.

Inside the game plan you build the playlists that control what appears and when, for example pre-match and post-match content, breaks and in-game graphics. Make your changes, then save before you leave so they are kept.

Use the row menu

For more options, open the menu at the end of the game plan's row. It gives you four actions.

Edit Playlists

Choose Edit Playlists to open the game plan so you can build its playlists. This takes you to the same place as clicking the row. Use it to add, remove or reorder items, adjust triggers and priority, and preview how the playlists will run.

Edit

Choose Edit to change the game plan's name and settings, rather than its playlists. Use this when you want to rename a plan or update how it is set up, without touching the graphics and multimedia inside it. Save your changes when you are done.

Duplicate

Duplicate makes a copy of the game plan to start from. The copy appears in your list as a new game plan, so you can change it without affecting the original.

This is useful when:

  • You run a similar format across several competitions and want each to have its own plan.

  • You want to try changes on a copy before using them for a live match, such as Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR).

  • You need a version with a different sponsor or ad setup but the same structure.

After duplicating, use Edit to give the copy a clear new name so you don't confuse it with the original.

Delete

Delete removes the game plan. Only delete a plan you are sure you no longer need. If you think you might want it again, keep it, or duplicate it first so you have a backup.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Check where a plan is used before deleting it. A game plan can be assigned to a theme profile in the Details & Settings tab under Automation & Control Room. If you remove a plan that is in use, any match relying on it will not have that automation to run.

  • Edit vs Edit Playlists. If you can't find the setting you want, you may be in the wrong place. Use Edit for the name and settings, and Edit Playlists (or click the row) for the playlist content.

  • Test on a copy. Making big changes close to kick-off is risky. Duplicate the plan, make your changes on the copy, preview them, then assign the copy when you are happy.

  • Keep names consistent. A simple naming pattern, such as competition then format, keeps a growing list easy to manage for everyone in your organisation.
