Setting playlist priority and guards

Use priority levels to decide which playlist wins, and guards to stop a playlist running without the data it needs.

When two playlists want the screen at the same time, priority decides which one plays. Guards decide whether a playlist is allowed to run at all.

Set priority

  1. Click Configure on the playlist.

  2. On the Playlist tab, click Show Advanced Options.

  3. Choose a Priority level.

Level

Meaning

1 – Highest

Takes over from anything lower. Use for goals.

2 – High (Default)

Every new playlist starts here.

3

Lower priority.

4 – Lowest

Gives way to everything else.

A higher-priority playlist takes precedence over a lower-priority one that's running.

Priority examples

  • Goals at level 1. A goal takes over from a card, stat or sponsor playlist that's running.

  • Cards at level 2, milestones at level 1. On the 3rd card for a team, the milestone playlist plays instead of the normal card playlist, so the two don't show at once.

  • Pre-game: set the button-triggered playlists (Players entering, About to start) low and a "2 minutes to kick-off" time trigger high. The time-triggered playlist then always plays at 2 minutes out, whatever buttons have been pressed.

Tip: Give playlists that can collide different priorities. If two playlists with the same priority fire together, only the first one received will show.

Guards

Guards are conditions that must all pass before the playlist can be triggered. Leave the field empty for no restrictions.

  • Use a guard to stop a substitution playlist running if the fact has no players attached.

  • Use a guard to stop team lists running when lineups aren't complete.

  • Use a guard to hide stats graphics when every stat is zero.

Choose guards in Configure > Playlist > Show Advanced Options > Guards.
