Managing Production URLs and Monitoring Links

Learn how to access, copy, and refresh Production URLs and Monitoring Links for your overlays in LIGR Live.

Overview

The Production URL is the link you copy from Overlay Settings and paste into streaming software like vMix, OBS, or LiveView to display graphics on your broadcast. A separate Monitoring Link is available for testing purposes without affecting the live production URL. You can refresh the Production URL to generate a new link if needed.

Accessing Production and Monitoring Links

There are two ways to access Production URLs and Monitoring Links.

From Overlay Settings: Click Matches in the left sidebar, then find your match and expand it by clicking the drop-down arrow. Click the three-dot menu next to your overlay and select Settings. The Production URL and Monitoring Link will appear in the Overlay Settings page.

From Overlay Actions Menu: Expand your match in the Matches table, then click the three-dot menu next to your overlay and select Links. Both the Production URL and Monitoring Link are displayed here.

Using the Production URL

The Production URL is what you paste into your streaming software to display graphics on your broadcast output. To copy it, access Overlay Settings or Links as described above, then click Copy Production Link, and paste the URL into your streaming software (vMix, OBS, LiveView, etc.).

Once the Production URL is active in your streaming software, the overlay indicator turns red, showing the overlay is live. Graphics time begins deducting from your balance when the URL is active.

Using the Monitoring Link

The Monitoring Link allows you to preview how your overlay will appear without affecting the live Production URL or consuming graphics hours. To copy it, access Overlay Settings or Links, click Copy Monitoring Link, and paste the URL into a browser or testing environment.

Use the Monitoring Link for testing overlay configurations, verifying graphic appearance, or troubleshooting without impacting your live broadcast or billing.

Refreshing the Production URL

If your overlay stops responding or you need to generate a new Production URL, you can refresh it in one of two ways.

From Overlay Settings: Navigate to Overlay Settings using the accessing instructions above, then click Refresh next to the Production URL field. A new Production URL is generated, which you should copy and paste into your streaming software.

From Stream Monitoring Page: Navigate to Matches and expand your match, then click View from the stream's action menu to open the Stream Monitoring page. Below the video player, locate the overlay assignment dropdown and click the refresh icon immediately to the right of it. The overlay Production URL refreshes for this stream.

If you're using external streaming software like vMix or OBS, you may need to re-copy and re-paste the updated Production URL after refreshing.

Refreshing Multiple Overlays

You can refresh Production URLs for multiple overlays simultaneously using bulk actions. Navigate to Matches and expand your match, then check the boxes next to each overlay you want to refresh. Click Refresh Overlays in the bulk actions menu at the top of the screen, and all selected overlays will generate new Production URLs.

When to Refresh the Production URL

Refresh the Production URL when:

• Graphics stop appearing or responding during a broadcast

• The overlay becomes unresponsive in the Control Room

• You need to troubleshoot overlay connectivity issues

• You're setting up a new stream and want a fresh URL

Refreshing generates a completely new URL. The previous URL will no longer work, so you must copy and paste the new one into your streaming software.

Important Notes

• The Production URL is specific to each overlay — each overlay has its own unique URL

• When the Production URL is active in streaming software, the overlay indicator turns red

• Graphics hours are deducted when the Production URL is active, whether on a LIGR-hosted stream or in external software

• The Monitoring Link does not consume graphics hours and does not affect your live broadcast

• Refreshing the URL from the Stream Monitoring page is convenient during live troubleshooting

• Overlay refresh cannot be performed from Match Center — use Overlay Settings or Stream Monitoring page instead
