Understanding Production URLs and Monitoring URLs

Explains the difference between Production and Monitoring URLs, where to find them, and how to copy, refresh, or reset them.

What Production URLs and Monitoring URLs Are

The Production URL is the link you copy and paste into your streaming software (vMix, OBS, LiveView) to display your overlay graphics on the broadcast. When you paste this URL into your software, the overlay becomes active and graphics will appear on your stream.

The Monitoring URL is used for testing and previewing how the overlay will look without making it active or incurring charges.

Where to Find Production and Monitoring URLs

To locate your overlay's Production and Monitoring URLs, start by navigating to the Matches section. Find your match and click the drop-down arrow to expand the match view, then click the three-dot menu next to the overlay you want to use and select Settings from the menu. The Overlay Settings page that opens displays both the Production URL and the Monitoring URL.

How to Copy the Production URL

On the Overlay Settings page, click Copy Production Link. The URL is now copied to your clipboard and ready to paste into vMix, OBS, LiveView, or other streaming software.

How to Copy the Monitoring URL

On the Overlay Settings page, click Copy Monitoring Link. Use this URL for testing without activating the overlay.

How to Refresh the Production URL

If your overlay stops responding or you need to reset the connection, you can refresh the Production URL. First, open the Overlay Settings page by following the steps above. Then click the Refresh button next to the Production URL, which generates a new Production URL. Finally, copy the new Production URL and paste it into your streaming software.

If you're using external software like vMix or OBS, you may need to re-copy the updated Production URL after refreshing the overlay.

How to Reset the Overlay Key

Resetting the Overlay Key generates a completely new Production URL from the overlay Actions menu. To do this, navigate to the Matches section and expand the match view, then click the three-dot menu next to the overlay and select Reset Overlay Key. This generates a new Production URL, which you can access from Overlay Settings (Links option in the Actions menu).

When the Overlay Becomes Active

The overlay is considered active when either of the following occurs:

• The Production URL is pasted into production switching software (vMix, OBS, etc.)

• The Production URL is pasted into automatic camera user interfaces that integrate with LIGR

Once active, time is deducted from your balance for the feature currently in use.
