Overview
When creating or configuring an overlay for a match, you must select an Ad Type. This setting determines what appears on your broadcast overlay during the stream. There are three options: BRANDS (show your own advertising), FREE TIER (show LIGR Live advertising), or NO BRANDS (no advertising shown).
If you select BRANDS as the ad type, you must also enable the "Enable Ads" toggle in Overlay Settings for your ads to actually appear on the overlay. Both settings must be configured correctly for your sponsor ads to display during broadcasts.
Ad Type Options
When configuring an overlay, you select one of three ad type options:
* BRANDS: Show your own advertising. This option requires Graphics and Brands hours in your balance. Your configured ad sets will appear on the overlay during the broadcast.
* FREE TIER: Show LIGR Live advertising. This option uses Graphics hours (not Graphics and Brands hours). LIGR's own advertising will appear on your overlay.
* NO BRANDS: No advertising shown. This option uses Graphics hours. No advertising of any kind will appear on your overlay.
How to Set Ad Type
You configure the ad type when creating or editing an overlay.
When creating a new overlay:
1. Navigate to the Matches section
2. Click the three-dot Actions menu for the match
3. Select ADD OVERLAY
4. In the overlay configuration screen, locate the AD TYPE field
5. Select BRANDS, FREE TIER, or NO BRANDS from the dropdown
6. Complete the remaining overlay settings
7. Click CREATE to create the overlay
Enable Ads Toggle
If you select BRANDS as your ad type, you must also enable the "Enable Ads" toggle in Overlay Settings for your ads to actually appear.
The ad type and the Enable Ads toggle work together:
* Ad Type set to BRANDS + Enable Ads toggled ON = Your ads appear on the overlay
* Ad Type set to BRANDS + Enable Ads toggled OFF = No ads appear on the overlay
* Ad Type set to FREE TIER = LIGR ads appear (Enable Ads toggle does not apply)
* Ad Type set to NO BRANDS = No ads appear (Enable Ads toggle does not apply)
How to Enable Ads in Overlay Settings
After creating an overlay with BRANDS selected as the ad type, you must enable ads in the overlay settings.
1. From the Matches table, expand the match details
2. Find the overlay in the expanded view
3. Click the three-dot menu next to the overlay
4. Select Settings
5. On the Overlay Settings page, locate the ENABLE ADS toggle
6. Toggle Enable Ads to ON
7. Save your changes
Your ads will now appear on the overlay during broadcasts.
Graphics and Brands Hours
When you select BRANDS as the ad type and enable ads, you must have sufficient Graphics and Brands hours in your balance. These hours are separate from standard Graphics hours.
If your Graphics and Brands balance is low or at zero, ads will not appear on the broadcast even if ad type is set to BRANDS and Enable Ads is toggled on.
You can check your balance from the Matches tab or the Dashboard tab. Balance indicators display your remaining Graphics hours and Graphics and Brands hours.
Common Issues
Issue: Ads not appearing on overlay even though ad type is set to BRANDS
Solution: Verify the Enable Ads toggle is ON in Overlay Settings. The ad type alone is not sufficient - you must also enable the toggle. Additionally, confirm you have sufficient Graphics and Brands hours in your balance.
Issue: Don't know which ad type to select
Solution: Select BRANDS if you want to show your own sponsor advertising and have Graphics and Brands hours available. Select FREE TIER if you want LIGR advertising to appear and are using Graphics hours only. Select NO BRANDS if you don't want any advertising on your overlay.
Issue: Selected BRANDS but being charged Graphics hours instead of Graphics and Brands hours
Solution: Verify Enable Ads is toggled ON in Overlay Settings. If Enable Ads is off, the overlay will use Graphics hours instead of Graphics and Brands hours even though BRANDS is selected as the ad type.
