Overview
Match settings control the configuration of your match including period lengths, player settings, stat coverage, and lineup configuration. You can edit these settings from the Matches section before the match starts.
Important: Match settings cannot be edited once the match has started — either from the LiveScore app or from an external data provider. You must edit settings before starting the match.
How to Access Match Settings
1. Click Matches in the left sidebar
2. Find the match you want to edit
3. Click the three-dot Actions menu for that match
4. Select Settings
The match settings page opens with all editable fields.
What You Can Edit

Teams
* Home team
* Away team
Only teams assigned to the selected competition will appear in the dropdowns.
Date and Time
Set the scheduled date and time for the match.
Venue
Select the venue where the match takes place. Only venues created in Assets > Venues will appear in the dropdown.

These settings control match timing and structure. Available options vary by sport.
For football example:

* Extra Time: Toggle on if needed
* Shootout: Toggle on if needed
Stat Coverage
* Minimum: Basic match events only
* Standard: Full statistical coverage

Advanced Settings

* Cumulative: Toggle on for cumulative timing

Saving Your Changes
After making changes, click the save button at the bottom of the page. Your changes apply immediately to the match.
Changing Team Competition Assignment During a Match
You can change a team's competition assignment even after matches have been created. Teams can be assigned to a new competition during a match, but that change does not affect the match itself in terms of match settings.
The match will still show that team under the competition it was assigned to before the team's competition assignment was changed and before the match started. If a new match is created with that team, it will appear under the newly assigned competition.
Important Restrictions
Cannot Edit After Match Starts
Once a match has started — either from the LiveScore app or from an external data provider — you cannot edit match settings. The settings page will be locked.
If you need to make changes after a match has started:
* Stop the match in the LiveScore app or wait for the match to complete
* For future matches, always edit settings before starting
Pre-Configured Competition Settings
If your competition has pre-configured match settings in Assets > Competitions > Additional Settings > Match Configuration, those settings auto-fill when you create a match under that competition. You can override these defaults by editing the individual match settings before the match starts.
