Reconnecting a dropped stream in LIGR Live restores the video feed between your encoder and the platform so your match broadcast and overlays can continue without starting a new match.
When a Stream Drops
A stream can drop for several reasons, including:
• Encoder software (OBS, vMix, or hardware encoder) losing connection
• Local internet instability
• RTMP or NDI signal interruption
• Encoder being stopped or restarted mid-match
When this happens, the Input in LIGR Live will show as disconnected, and your Destinations (such as YouTube Live or Facebook Live) will stop receiving video.

Before You Start
Make sure you have:
• Access to the match in the Matches section
• Access to the encoder sending video to LIGR
• The original RTMP URL and stream key, or NDI source, used for the Input
Reconnecting the Stream
Step 1: Check the Input Status in LIGR
1. Open the Matches tab in the left sidebar.
2. Select the affected match.
3. Go to the Streaming section for that match.
4. Locate the Input and confirm it shows as disconnected.

Step 2: Restart the Encoder Feed
1. Open your encoder (OBS, vMix, or hardware encoder).
2. Stop the stream if it is still attempting to send.
3. Confirm the RTMP URL and stream key, or NDI source, match the Input details in LIGR.
4. Start the stream again from the encoder.
Step 3: Confirm the Input Is Live in LIGR
1. Return to the Streaming section of your match.
2. Wait a few seconds for the Input to reconnect.
3. Confirm the Input now shows as connected and video is visible.
Step 4: Check Your Destinations
1. Open each Destination linked to the match.
2. Confirm the stream is being received by YouTube Live, Facebook Live, or your RTMP endpoint.
3. If a Destination does not automatically resume, stop and restart it from the Streaming section.

Step 5: Resume Match Operation
1. Return to the Control Room for the match.
2. Confirm your overlays, scorebug, and any running Automated Game Plan are still active.
3. Resume triggering graphics or allow the Automated Game Plan to continue.
Tips
• Keep your encoder's RTMP URL and stream key saved in a secure place so you can quickly reconfigure if needed.
• If using NDI, confirm the sending device and LIGR are on the same network before restarting.
• Use the Monitoring Link to verify the output without interfering with the Control Room operator.
• If you are broadcasting a critical match, have a backup encoder ready to take over the same Input.
Common Issues
• Input stays disconnected after restart: Double-check the RTMP URL and stream key in your encoder match exactly what LIGR shows for the Input.
• Destinations not resuming: Some platforms (like YouTube Live) may require the stream to be manually restarted on their side.
• Overlays missing after reconnection: Refresh the Control Room tab in your browser and confirm the match is still active.
• NDI source not appearing: Confirm both the encoder and LIGR receiver are on the same local network and NDI discovery is not blocked by a firewall.
• Repeated drops: Check local internet stability and encoder bitrate settings. Lower bitrates are more reliable on unstable connections.
