How to Rename a Match Recording

Renaming a Match Recording in LIGR Live lets you give each recording a clear, recognisable title so you can quickly find it later in your Multimedia library.

Overview

When a match finishes streaming, LIGR Live automatically saves a Match Recording in the Multimedia tab. By default, recordings are named based on the match itself, but you can rename them to something more descriptive — for example, to highlight a key fixture, a round number, or a specific broadcast version.

This guide covers how to rename a Match Recording from within the Multimedia section.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• A completed match with a saved Match Recording

• Access to the Multimedia tab in your Organisation

• Permission to edit media (Owner, Admin, User or Media Viewer)

Renaming a Match Recording

Step-by-step

1. In the left sidebar, click the Multimedia tab.

2. Select Match Recordings from the Multimedia options.

3. Locate the recording you want to rename. You can scroll through the list or use the search field to find it by match name.

4. Click on the recording to open its details page.

5. Find the recording title field at the top of the details page.

6. Click the title (or the edit icon next to it) to make it editable.

7. Type the new name for your Match Recording.

8. Save your changes.

Choosing a Good Name

A clear name makes recordings easier to find later. Consider including:

• Competition name

• Round or matchday number

• Team names

• Date of the match

• Any special context (e.g. "Grand Final", "Semi-Final Replay")

Tips

• Keep names consistent across your Organisation so recordings sort neatly in the Match Recordings list.

• If you plan to share a recording externally, use a name that makes sense outside of LIGR Live.

• Renaming a Match Recording does not rename the original Match itself — the two are separate.

• Highlights and Compilations created from this recording will keep their own names, independent of the recording's name.

Common Issues

I can't edit the recording title Check your user role. Only Owners, Admins, and Users with media edit access can rename recordings. Media Viewers have view-only access.

The new name didn't save Make sure you saved or confirmed the change before leaving the page. Refresh the Match Recordings list to confirm the update appears.

I can't find the recording I want to rename Confirm the match has finished streaming and that a recording was successfully captured. Recordings only appear in the Match Recordings list once the stream has ended and processing is complete.
