How to Edit and Trim Highlights

Editing and trimming Highlights in LIGR Live lets you refine automatically generated or manually created clips from a match recording so you can share polished moments on social media, with clubs, or in post-match content.

What You Can Edit

Highlights in LIGR Live are short video clips pulled from a match recording. Once a Highlight has been created, you can adjust its start and end points to tighten the clip, remove dead time, or focus on the key action.

You can edit Highlights that were:

• Automatically generated from Match Facts recorded in the LiveScore App

• Manually created from Moments tagged during or after a match

• Added as part of a Compilation

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

• A completed Match with a recording available

• At least one Highlight or Moment created from that match

• Appropriate access to the multimedia section of your Organisation

How to Trim a Highlight

Follow these steps to adjust the in and out points of an existing Highlight.

1. Open your Organisation and navigate to the match that contains the Highlight you want to edit.

2. Go to the Highlights section for that match.

3. Locate the Highlight in the list and open it.

4. Use the trim controls to set a new start point and end point for the clip.

5. Preview the clip to confirm the new timing feels right.

6. Save your changes.

Adjusting the Start Point

Move the start handle forward to cut out any lead-in time before the action. This is useful when an automatically generated Highlight begins a few seconds before the key moment.

Adjusting the End Point

Move the end handle backward to cut the clip before play resets or the camera moves off the action. Shorter, focused clips tend to perform better when shared.

Editing Highlights Created from Moments

If your Highlight was built from a Moment tagged during the match, you can refine it the same way. Open the Highlight, trim it, and save. The original Moment tag stays intact, so you can always create another Highlight from the same point later.

Using Trimmed Highlights in a Compilation

Once your individual Highlights are trimmed the way you want, you can combine them into a Compilation. Cleaner trims produce a smoother final video because each clip transitions directly into the next without unnecessary padding.

Tips

• Trim tightly around the action. Two to three seconds of lead-in and a clean exit usually works best.

• Preview each Highlight after trimming before adding it to a Compilation.

• If the automatically generated clip length does not suit your needs, trimming is faster than recreating the Highlight from scratch.

• Keep Match Facts accurate in the LiveScore App during the match — better event timing means better automatic Highlights and less trimming later.

Common Issues

The trim handles will not move past a certain point Highlights are bound to the length of the source match recording. You cannot trim beyond what was recorded.

My edits are not saving Check your connection and make sure you have the correct permissions on the Organisation. Media Viewer access is view-only and does not allow editing.

The preview looks different from the final clip Allow a short processing time after saving. The final trimmed Highlight may take a moment to render before it reflects your changes everywhere it is used.

I trimmed too much and lost the key moment Re-open the Highlight and extend the start or end point again. Trimming is non-destructive to the source match recording.
