In order to setup the stream settings to be received into LIGR, follow the steps below:

  • Open OBS and select Settings from the right hand side under Controls.

  • In the Settings menu, select Stream from the left-hand menu.

  • Under Service, select Custom..." from the dropdown menu.

  • In the Server field, enter the RTMP URL provided by LIGR.live. This will typically be in the format of rtmp://ingest.ligr.stream/ and is unique to your LIGR.live account. An article explaining stream inputs in LIGR can be found here.

  • In the Stream key field, enter the stream key provided by LIGR.live.

  • Once happy click Apply.

  • Select Output from the left-hand menu.

  • Under Streaming set the following:

    • Video Bitrate: Choosing the optimal stream settings for OBS when streaming to LIGR.live depends on various factors, including the available bandwidth. It's generally recommended to have at least double the upload speed of the selected bitrate to ensure a stable and smooth stream. However, it's important to test and experiment with different bitrate settings to determine what works best for your specific workflow.

    • Audio Bitrate: Setting this to 128 is more than adequate. If you want higher, select it. But you will require more bandwidth to transmit.

    • Encoder: Set this to be Hardware (NVENC) or Software (x264). You can test which one works better for your computer and internet connection.

    • Encoder Preset: This can be left at P6.

  • Click Apply and then OK to save your settings.

  • Start your stream in OBS and then go to your LIGR.Live account to preview and go live. Ensure your stream is started in the monitoring page to be able to recieve the incoming stream.
