The LiveScore scoring screen

A tour of the LiveScore scoring screen: teams, score and period, the match clock and its controls, the stat rows and the top bar.

The scoring screen is where you spend the whole match. It shows both teams, the score, the period and the clock, with a row for every stat you can log. Knowing the layout before kick-off makes scoring quick and calm.

Teams, score and period

The top of the screen shows the state of the match at a glance:

  • Period: the label above the score, for example FIRST HALF or HALF TIME.

  • Home team: crest and short name on the left, for example HCF for Harbour City.

  • Score: in the middle, home score first.

  • Away team: short name and crest on the right, for example RVR for Ridgeview.

The score comes from the goals you log. When you save a goal, the score here updates, and so do the graphics on your broadcast.

The match clock

The clock runs in the middle of the screen, in minutes and seconds. Every event you log is stamped with the period and this clock time, so keeping it accurate matters.

  1. Tap the pause button to stop the clock. A Clock paused message confirms it. Tap it again when play restarts.

  2. Use minus and plus to adjust the clock one second at a time. For example, one tap of minus takes 15:00 back to 14:59.

  3. Adjust until the clock matches the ground clock or the referee's time.

Why it matters: the time on each event is used in match history, on your graphics and when you mark moments for clips. If the clock drifts, every event after that carries the wrong time.

The stat rows

Below the clock, every stat has its own row. Home is always on the left and away is always on the right, matching the teams at the top. The big number on each side is that team's count. It is faded while the count is zero.

For football, the rows include:

  • GOAL

  • SHOT OFF TARGET and SHOT ON TARGET

  • CORNER

  • FREE KICK CONCEDED and PENALTY CONCEDED

  • PENALTY SHOT MISSED

  • YELLOW CARD and RED CARD boxes for each team

  • OFFSIDE, and further stats as you scroll down

The exact stats you see depend on the sport set up for the match, so other sports show the rows that suit them.

The top bar

Along the top of the screen you will find:

  • The back arrow, which returns you to your match list.

  • HISTORY, LINEUP and MATCH INFO, for reviewing events, setting the line-up and checking match details.

  • UNDO, which takes back the last event.

  • MOMENT, which marks something worth a clip.

  • The blue period button, for example END 1ST HALF. Its label changes as the match moves on, such as START 2ND HALF after half-time.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Set the clock at kick-off. Start and check it against the ground clock in the first minute, while things are quiet.

  • Know which side is which. Home is on the left. If the teams swap ends at the ground, the screen does not change.

  • Tap with care. Most stat counts log the event as soon as you tap them (Goal opens the goal screen first). If you mis-tap, use UNDO right away.
