Overview

Control Mode determines whether graphics appear automatically when match events are logged (Auto Mode) or require manual operator control from the Control Room (Manual Mode). This setting is configured in Overlay Settings and affects all graphics on that overlay.

When Auto Mode is enabled, graphics automatically appear when match events are logged in the LiveScore app or through external data providers. When Auto Mode is disabled (Manual Mode), you control exactly when graphics appear by clicking them in the Control Room.

Auto Mode

When Auto Mode is enabled, graphics automatically display when match events are logged. This reduces the need for manual intervention during matches.

How it works:

* Match events are logged in the LiveScore app or through external data providers

* Graphics automatically appear on the overlay when events occur

* Goals, cards, substitutions, and other events trigger their corresponding graphics

* You don't need to manually click graphics in the Control Room

Best for:

* Broadcasts where you want hands-free graphic operation

* Situations where the operator is managing multiple tasks simultaneously

* Matches where events are being logged accurately and in real-time

Manual Mode

When Auto Mode is disabled, graphics only appear when you manually show them from the Control Room. You have complete control over when each graphic displays.

How it works:

* Match events can still be logged in the LiveScore app

* Graphics do NOT automatically appear when events are logged

* You click graphics in the Control Room to show them on the overlay

* You click again to hide graphics

Best for:

* Broadcasts where you want precise control over graphic timing

* Situations where match events are logged with a delay

* Productions where graphics need to coordinate with other broadcast elements

How to Change Control Mode

Control Mode is configured in Overlay Settings. You can change this setting before or during a match.

From the Matches table:

1. Click the three-dot Actions menu next to the overlay

2. Select Settings

3. Under Control Mode, select Manual Mode or Auto Mode

4. The change applies immediately

From expanded match view:

1. Click the drop-down arrow to expand the match

2. Click the three-dot menu next to the overlay

3. Select Settings

4. Under Control Mode, select Manual Mode or Auto Mode

Using the Control Room

The Control Room interface is where you manually control graphics, regardless of which Control Mode is active.

In Auto Mode:

* Graphics appear automatically when events are logged

* You can still manually show or hide graphics from the Control Room if needed

* Manual controls override automatic behavior

In Manual Mode:

* Click any graphic in the Control Room to show it on the overlay

* Click again to hide the graphic

* Available controls vary by sport and configuration

Accessing the Control Room:

1. From the Matches table, click the three-dot Actions menu for the overlay

2. Select Control Room

3. The Control Room interface opens showing all available graphics

Important Notes

* Control Mode applies to the entire overlay - you cannot set different modes for different graphic types

* Changing Control Mode during a live match takes effect immediately

* Match events are still recorded in the match timeline regardless of Control Mode

* In Manual Mode, highlights will still generate from logged match events (if highlight capture is enabled in stream settings)

Common Scenarios

Scenario: Graphics appearing at wrong times in Auto Mode

Switch to Manual Mode to control exactly when graphics display. Events can still be logged for the match record, but graphics won't appear until you show them manually.

Scenario: Missing graphic displays because operator forgot to show them

Switch to Auto Mode so graphics appear automatically when events are logged. This removes the need to remember to show each graphic.

Scenario: Need to show a graphic before the match event occurs

Use Manual Mode to show graphics at any time, independent of when events are logged in the LiveScore app.

Scenario: Operator managing multiple matches simultaneously

Enable Auto Mode on overlays to reduce manual workload. Graphics will appear automatically across all matches without manual intervention.
