Overview

For best performance, run the LIGR NDI software on the same computer as your main application. If necessary, it can also run on a separate machine connected to the same network. This article explains how to generate the graphics overlay in vMix.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the LIGR Google Drive download link

  • Windows computer on the same network as vMix

  • LIGR Production URL

Step 1: Install the NDI Application

  1. Download the NDI App and Windows Installer from the LIGR Google Drive

  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

  3. (Optional) Create a desktop shortcut for easy access

Step 2: Launch and Configure the NDI App

  1. Open the NDI application

  2. Set your Canvas Size

    • Recommended: 1920 × 1080

  3. Choose your Frame Rate (FPS)

  4. Paste your LIGR Production URL

  5. Enter a clear, descriptive NDI Source Name

    • This helps you quickly identify it on your network

    • Allows multiple sources to be available on your network

  6. Click Start

Your NDI output is now live on the network

Step 3: Add the NDI Source to vMix

  1. Open vMix

  2. Click Add Input (bottom-left corner)

  3. Select NDI / Desktop Capture

  4. Wait a few seconds for available NDI sources to appear

  5. Select your source from the list

  6. Click OK

If there is a GFX On Air in the LIGR Control Room then it will appear on the input window in vMix and the BlackMagic Card can be configured to output with Key & Fill via the External settings. An article explaining how to configure vMix and a Blackmagic Design card to generate Key & Fill output can be found here.

Troubleshooting

If you experience issues:

  1. Uninstall:

    • The Windows drivers

    • The LIGR NDI application

  2. Reinstall both components

  3. Restart your computer after installation

This resolves most installation and driver conflicts.
