Changing Overlay Assignments During a Stream

Learn how to change overlay assignments during a live stream using the Stream Monitoring page, the side panel, or stream settings.

Overview

You can change which overlay is assigned to a stream while the stream is live from the Stream Monitoring page. The overlay assignment dropdown is located directly below the video player and allows you to reassign overlays without stopping the stream.

The Stream Monitoring page is one of the primary locations where you can change overlay assignments for streams, along with the side panel in the expanded match view and stream configuration settings.

How to Change Overlay Assignment from Stream Monitoring Page

To change the overlay assignment from this page, start by accessing the Stream Monitoring page. You can do this by clicking "View" from the stream's Action Menu in the expanded match view, or by clicking the white space of a stream row to open the side control panel and selecting "View".

1. Locate the overlay controls directly below the video player.

2. Click the overlay assignment dropdown.

3. Select the new overlay you want to assign from the dropdown menu.

4. The overlay assignment changes immediately once selected.

When to Use This Method

The Stream Monitoring page overlay controls are particularly useful during live broadcasts when you need to quickly switch overlays without navigating away from the stream monitoring interface. You can change the assignment while actively monitoring the stream's health and status.

Note: Reassigning an overlay from one stream to another will move it - the overlay will no longer be assigned to the original stream.

Other Locations for Changing Overlay Assignments

Besides the Stream Monitoring page, you can also change overlay assignments from the following locations:

• The side panel: Click the white space of a stream row in the expanded match view to open the side panel, then use the overlay assignment dropdown.

• Stream settings: Access stream configuration settings and modify the overlay assignment from there.

Refreshing the Overlay

From the Stream Monitoring page, you can also refresh the overlay production URL using the refresh icon located immediately to the right of the overlay dropdown. If you are using external software like vMix or OBS, you may need to re-copy the updated production URL after refreshing the overlay.

Note: The overlay refresh function is performed from the Stream Monitoring page. It cannot be refreshed from Match Center.
