Show or Hide Watermarks on an Overlay

Switch your primary and secondary watermark logos on or off for an overlay, before or during a live broadcast, and save your settings.

Watermarks are your logos, shown on top of your stream for the whole broadcast. Each overlay can show or hide a primary and a secondary watermark. You can switch either one on or off at any time, even while you're live.

Before you start

  • You set your watermark images in your competition settings, not on the overlay. Upload your primary and secondary logos there first. The overlay only decides whether each one is shown.

  • You need an existing overlay, or you need to be creating one. Overlays are created per match in the Matches tab.

Show or hide your watermarks

  1. Open the overlay's settings. If you're adding a new overlay, you're already in the Create Overlay pop-up. For an existing overlay, go to Matches, expand the match, open the menu at the end of the overlay's row and click Configure.

  2. Find Show Primary Watermark. Next to it you'll see a preview card showing the primary watermark from your competition settings. Toggle it on to show the logo on screen, or off to hide it.

  3. Find Show Secondary Watermark and do the same. It has its own preview card, so you can check you've got the right logo before you save.

  4. Click Create for a new overlay, or Update for an existing one.

Your overlay is saved with these settings. Both toggles are on by default for a new overlay. If you don't want a logo on screen, switch it off before you save.

Primary and secondary: which is which?

The two watermarks are simply two logo slots. Each has its own image in your competition settings and its own toggle on the overlay. A common setup is your competition or league logo as the primary, for example the LIGR Demo League logo, and a partner or club logo as the secondary.

Because each watermark has its own toggle, you can show both, one or neither on each overlay. For example, for Harbour City (HCF) v Ridgeview (RVR) you might show both logos on your main stream overlay, but only the primary on a second overlay used for the big screen at LIGR Demo Stadium.

Changing watermarks during a broadcast

You can switch watermarks on or off at any time: before the match, during a live broadcast or after the final whistle. You don't need to stop the overlay or the stream.

  1. Go to Matches and expand the match.

  2. Open the menu on the overlay's row and click Configure.

  3. Change the Show Primary Watermark or Show Secondary Watermark toggle.

  4. Click Update.

This is handy if you need to remove a logo for one segment and bring it back later, or if a logo is covering something important on screen.

Auto Background

Auto Background sits in the same pop-up and works the same way. Toggle it on for automatic background graphics, or off to turn them off. Like watermarks, you can change it at any time without stopping the overlay or the stream. The change is saved when you click Create or Update.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Toggle is on but no logo? Check that a watermark image has been uploaded in your competition settings. If the preview card is empty, there's nothing for the overlay to show.

  • Wrong logo showing? Change the image in your competition settings. It updates for every overlay in that competition, so you don't need to edit each overlay.

  • Changed a toggle but nothing happened? Make sure you clicked Update. Closing the pop-up without saving keeps the old settings.

  • Same setup every match? Set the watermark toggles in your overlay template, so every new overlay starts the way you want.
