Theme instances allow you to create multiple output configurations from a single game plan β€” for example, a full-graphics media stream and a scoreboard-only stream for radar/IMG distribution. This guide covers setting up theme instances for dual-stream broadcasting, configuring default graphics per instance, and creating a scoreboard-only live playlist with stoppage time, cards, and substitution variables.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the LIGR Automation platform

  • An existing game plan with graphics configured

  • Multiple output streams or destinations (e.g., media screen, radar/IMG)

  • Scoreboard graphics configured in FUSE with relevant control variables

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Understand theme instances

Theme instances are separate configurations of the same game plan that output to different destinations. For example, a media screen instance can show full graphics, while a radar/IMG instance shows only the scoreboard.

Step 2: Create a full-graphics theme instance

Create the first theme instance for your primary media stream. This instance includes all graphics: scoreboard, lower-thirds, player stats, animations, and advertisements.

Step 3: Create a scoreboard-only theme instance

Create a second theme instance for the scoreboard-only output. Remove all graphics except the scoreboard. This creates a clean output with just the essential match information overlay.

Step 4: Configure scoreboard variables

Set up the scoreboard-specific control variables for the scoreboard-only instance. Key variables include stoppage time display, card indicators, substitution counters, and period/half indicators.

Step 5: Test both output streams

Preview both theme instances to verify they display correctly. The full-graphics instance should show all overlays, while the scoreboard-only instance should show a clean feed with only the scoreboard.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Theme instances share the same match data β€” changes to score, time, or events update across all instances simultaneously.

  • The scoreboard-only instance is ideal for distribution partners (radar, IMG) who need clean feeds.

  • Each theme instance can have its own default graphic configuration.

  • Scoreboard variables (stoppage time, cards, subs) should be configured for both instances for consistency.

  • You can create more than two instances β€” for example, a third instance for social media with a different graphic style.
